Did you know that the maximum permissible continuous noise level during a full eight hour shift is 85 dB (A) in most jurisdictions? All our hearing protectors are identified by their IRB (Noise Reduction Index) which corresponds to the reduction of noise in decibels provided by the equipment. However, considering the actual effectiveness in the workplace, the CSA recommends reducing the IRB shown on the label by the following percentage, in order to ensure maximum protection for the worker:
Ear muffs: IRB - 30%, Earplugs: IRB - 50%, Double protection (earmuffs and earplugs): IRB - 35%
